Join OSM Thome as a Crane Operator Assistant on an offshore FPSO unit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. You will work as part of the deck and marine crew to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations, supporting cargo, supply and maintenance activities offshore.
Key responsibilities
1- Operate cranes, at the request of the crane operator, for both internal movements within the units and transfers between units and vessels;
2- Ensure personal and team safety during operations, as well as monitor and implement preventive and/or corrective measures as necessary;
3- Operate the crane safely by adjusting controls and movements, following the guidance and constant supervision of a superior;
4- Assess operating conditions by interpreting the instrument panel (instrument checklists, control tests, etc.) in accordance with operational procedures and manufacturer instructions;
5- Perform maintenance, upkeep, and cleaning of cranes and associated equipment;
6- Participate in cargo loading/unloading, positioning and securing of cargo on deck, and assisting the project team, as instructed by the person in charge of the vessel;
7- Perform other assigned auxiliary tasks, carrying out activities under the guidance of an immediate superior;
8- Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team (abandonment procedures);
9- Participate in aircraft reception operations.
