OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Fitter to work on oil/chemical tankers trading worldwide. You will carry out steel repairs, maintenance and fabrication work to keep the vessel in safe and good condition.
Key responsibilities
- Perform steel repairs on deck, in engine room and in tanks
- Carry out gas cutting, welding and basic fabrication work
- Assist with maintenance of pipelines, structures and supports
- Work closely with deck and engine crew on repair jobs
- Follow all safety procedures, especially for hot work and enclosed spaces
Requirements
- Previous seagoing experience as Fitter, preferably on tankers
- Strong welding and gas-cutting skills (arc, gas, basic fabrication)
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness
- Good English for shipboard communication
- Safety-minded, hardworking and able to work independently
