On behalf of Royal Caribbean Group, we are seeking a skilled Aquatic Stage Staff professional to support world-class entertainment productions onboard. The successful candidate will assist with underwater and backstage operations in the Aqua Theater, ensuring the safe execution of live performances while supporting technical stage operations, equipment maintenance, and show production. This role is ideal for candidates with professional diving experience and a passion for live entertainment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support underwater and backstage operations during AquaTheater rehearsals and live performances.
- Set up, inspect, clean, and maintain SCUBA equipment, props, stage equipment, and set pieces.
- Ensure the safe operation of diving activities and underwater performance support.
- Assist performers, stage crew, and technical teams during rehearsals and live shows.
- Operate according to technical track sheets while maintaining safety and production quality.
- Support live entertainment programs by handling props, scenery, instruments, and technical equipment.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of stage equipment, props, and theatrical systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, handover notes, and operational documentation.
- Participate in rehearsals, meetings, and mandatory safety training.
- Comply with all company policies, entertainment procedures, and safety standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Entertainment Management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Open Water SCUBA Certification (PADI or internationally recognized equivalent such as SSI, SDI, or NAUI).
- Professional or documented diving experience.
- Previous experience working underwater in a professional environment.
- Experience supporting live entertainment, theatre, backstage, or technical stage operations is preferred.
- Experience with carpentry, painting, hand tools, or theatrical repairs is an advantage.
- Experience with lighting, cabling, backline equipment, or video systems is preferred.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous cruise ship entertainment technical experience.
- Experience working in underwater productions or aquatic entertainment.
- Theatre, Production Arts, or Theatre Technology education or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience supporting live concerts, theatrical productions, or large-scale entertainment events.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to safely work underwater using SCUBA equipment during live performances.
- Physically fit and medically cleared for shipboard employment.
- Ability to work at heights when required.
- Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced entertainment environment.
- Ability to participate in emergency drills and safety procedures.
