OSM Thome is looking for an experienced 2nd Engineer to serve on an LNG tanker trading in Europe. You will support the safe and efficient operation of all engine room machinery and equipment, working closely with the Chief Engineer and the engine team.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Engineer in daily engine room operations and maintenance
- Monitor and maintain main engine, auxiliaries, boilers, and related systems
- Oversee engine room crew in routine checks, repairs, and planned maintenance
- Ensure safe operation of LNG-related systems in line with company and flag rules
- Carry out watchkeeping duties and keep accurate engine room records
- Support vessel safety, environmental protection, and emergency drills
Requirements
- Valid STCW III/2 2nd Engineer CoC for seagoing vessels
- Recent sea service as 2nd Engineer or strong 3rd Engineer background on tankers, preferably LNG
- Up-to-date STCW safety and survival certificates and valid medical
- Good knowledge of engine room systems, PMS, and safety procedures
- Good English communication skills and ability to work in an international crew
