Night Housekeeper for Royal Caribbean cruises worldwide. Manage cabins, ensure cleanliness, and deliver excellent guest service at sea.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional with strong housekeeping leadership experience, exceptional guest service standards, and the ability to manage night operations in a luxury cruise environment.

As Night Housekeeper, you will hold overall responsibility for delivering high-quality housekeeping, room service, butler, and laundry operations during the night. Reporting directly to the Chief Housekeeper, you will lead and support the night team to ensure exceptional service, operational efficiency, and full compliance with public health and company standards.

This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the housekeeping operation overnight, while ensuring guests and crew receive the highest standards of service. You will supervise areas including butler services, room service, suite attendants, utilities, and laundry, while also supporting guest satisfaction, team development, cost control, and operational readiness.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, proactive, guest-focused, and confident managing a multicultural team in a luxury hospitality environment.


Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Oversee the smooth and efficient running of housekeeping, room service, butler services, and laundry operations during the night
  • Support the Chief Housekeeper in managing night operations and maintaining luxury service standards
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest areas, public areas, toilets, launderettes, laundry, pantries, and room service areas
  • Ensure guest orders and requests are handled quickly, professionally, and knowledgeably
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and review guest feedback, recovery logs, and complaint logs to identify service improvements
  • Prepare daily handover reports for the Chief Housekeeper and Butler Manager
  • Supervise work schedules, attendance, overtime, and working hours for the night housekeeping team
  • Lead training, coaching, induction, and performance management for Night Butlers, Utilities, and Laundry team members
  • Ensure compliance with Public Health, Infection Control, Outbreak Prevention, and company cleaning standards
  • Maintain records, inspections, maintenance logs, inventories, and supply control for the Housekeeping department
  • Monitor operating costs, inventory usage, and consumable items to support cost control and operational efficiency
  • Ensure readiness for announced and unannounced Public Health inspections
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments on personnel matters, team performance, staffing, and service standards
  • Promote a positive work environment through leadership, mentoring, and professional conduct
  • Participate in safety drills, mandatory training, and emergency procedures as required

Qualifications and competence:

  • Valid STCW95 certification
  • Previous management or supervisory experience in housekeeping within a 5-star hotel or cruise ship
  • Excellent knowledge of professional cleaning standards and housekeeping operations
  • Strong understanding of Public Health policies and procedures
  • Ability to safely use and manage cleaning chemicals and related equipment
  • Physically and medically fit for shipboard work
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and people-management skills
  • High level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a multicultural environment
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Additional conversational language skills such as German, French, Italian, Spanish, or Mandarin are considered an asset
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Fidelio, and hotel operating systems

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Move throughout all areas of the vessel, including stairs
  • Lift or push up to 50 lbs
  • Work irregular schedules and overtime as required
  • Participate fully in emergency drills and safety procedures
