Senior Operations Manager, Marine & Crew Insurance

Job Description:

• Own the function end-to-end: drive the strategy, structure, innovation and standards for how the Maritime Insurance Services and Crew Claims team operates and be accountable for its performance to senior management.

• Lead and develop the team: build capability, set clear direction, mentor managers and claims handlers, and shape a high-performing team culture.

• Provide subject matter expertise: be the technical expert the business and its principals turn to on complex, high-value, or sensitive P&I, marine insurance, and crew claims matters, partnering closely with principals so they can make well-informed decisions.

• Represent Seacura at a senior level: act as the senior leader in claims reviews, negotiations, and strategic discussions with principals, P&I Clubs, and insurers.

• Drive continuous improvement: identify and implement operational, process, and governance improvements that raise the standard of the function and strengthen Seacura's reputation.

• Champion fair, compassionate claims handling for seafarers of all nationalities, setting the tone for how the team treats every case.
• Own compliance and risk: ensure the function's practices meet P&I Club guidelines, marine insurance terms, and maritime regulations (e.g., MLC 2006), and personally escalate and manage significant risk issues.
