Join OSM Thome as a 2nd Officer on a container vessel trading worldwide. You will be part of a professional bridge team, ensuring safe navigation and smooth cargo operations while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Officer with navigation, watchkeeping and shipboard operations
- Stand bridge watches, ensuring safe navigation and lookout at all times
- Plan and monitor voyages, update charts and nautical publications
- Assist with cargo operations, stability, and ballast control as directed
- Support deck maintenance, safety drills and implementation of SMS/ISPS
- Prepare and maintain logs, records and checklists as required
- Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Officer / OICNW license, meeting STCW requirements
- Experience as 2/O or strong 3/O experience on container vessels preferred
- Valid STCW certificates, medical fitness certificate and Seaman’s Book
- Good English communication skills, spoken and written
- Strong safety mindset and ability to work well in an international crew
