Join OSM Thome as Chief Officer on a bulk carrier trading worldwide. Take a leading role on deck, support the Master, and help us run safe and efficient operations at sea.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Master in the safe navigation and operation of the vessel
- Plan, supervise and execute cargo loading, stowage and discharging
- Lead and manage the deck crew in day-to-day operations and maintenance
- Oversee ballast operations and vessel stability
- Ensure strict compliance with safety, environmental and company procedures
- Maintain deck equipment, lifesaving and firefighting appliances in good order
- Requirements:
- Valid Chief Officer (Deck) license, STCW compliant
- Recent experience as C/O or 2/O on bulk carriers
- Good knowledge of cargo handling, stability and ballast water management
- Valid STCW certificates, medical and other mandatory documents
- Strong leadership, communication and safety mindset
- Good English communication skills
