OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Fitter to work on bulk carrier vessels trading worldwide. You will be part of the deck and engine team, carrying out steel repairs and maintenance to keep the vessel safe and seaworthy.
- Key responsibilities:
- Perform welding, cutting, and steel fabrication jobs on deck and in engine room
- Assist with repair and maintenance of hull, pipelines, structures, and fittings
- Support engine and deck crew during planned and unplanned repairs
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop in safe working condition
- Follow safety procedures and permit-to-work systems at all times
- Requirements:
- Previous seagoing experience as Fitter, preferably on bulk carriers
- Strong welding and gas-cutting skills (electric and gas)
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness as per flag and company standards
- Good English communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multinational crew
