Join OSM Thome as Electrician (ELEC) on a bulk carrier trading worldwide. You will be responsible for the safe and reliable operation of all electrical and electronic systems onboard, supporting smooth and efficient vessel operations.
Key responsibilities
- Operate, maintain and repair all electrical equipment and systems, including power distribution, lighting and automation
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and carry out corrective actions in a safe and timely manner
- Support maintenance of navigation, communication and cargo-handling systems as required
- Plan and perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance according to vessel schedules
- Keep accurate maintenance records and report any defects to the Chief Engineer
- Follow all safety procedures and assist in emergency response related to electrical systems
Requirements
- Valid Electro-Technical Officer / Electrician (ELEC) license and STCW certificates as required
- Seagoing experience as Electrician, preferably on bulk carriers
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, automation and control systems
- Good English communication skills
- Medically fit for sea service
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work independently
