Join OSM Thome as 2nd Cook / Assistant Cook onboard an offshore support vessel in Taiwan. Support the Chief Cook in preparing good, healthy meals for the crew and help keep the galley clean, safe, and well organized.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in daily meal preparation for crew and officers
- Help plan and prepare menus, including special diets when required
- Prepare salads, desserts, snacks, and other side dishes
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of food supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of galley, mess rooms, and stores
- Follow all safety, health, and hygiene procedures on board
- Support galley stock control and assist with loading provisions
Requirements
- Previous experience as 2nd Cook / Assistant Cook at sea, preferably offshore
- Basic marine galley experience and knowledge of food hygiene
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness as required
- Good English communication skills
- Ability to work in a small team and follow instructions from Chief Cook
- Willingness to work in offshore conditions in Taiwan
