Information about the job:

  • Position: JLT/VLS Control Room Operator.
  • Project: Offshore Fleet.
  • Location: Worldwide.
  • Rotation: 35/35 days on/off.
  • Salary: Please confirm your realistic expectations when applying. This will be discussed with the right candidate. Consolidated monthly.
  • Contract start: TBC.
  • Contract duration: 12 months (renewable).
  • Insurances: Provided by the Company.
  • Employer: Our client, a drilling and construction contractor.

Requirements / Qualifications / Competence:

  • Proven experience operating digital vessel logistics or tracking systems in offshore or maritime environments.
  • Strong situational awareness with ability to interpret multiple live data feeds simultaneously.
  • Competence in radio communication protocols and clear, concise reporting under pressure.
  • Ability to troubleshoot system irregularities and escalate issues with structured reporting.
  • High attention to detail with disciplined logging and time-stamped record keeping.
  • Comfortable working rotational shifts, including nights and extended offshore assignments.
  • Proficiency in standard office software and specialized control room interfaces.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to coordinate across marine, aviation, and onshore teams.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Tasks:

  • Monitor and manage real-time vessel positioning, routing, and status through control room systems.
  • Maintain continuous communication with vessel crews, offshore installations, and support teams.
  • Log all movements, deviations, and operational events in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Identify potential conflicts, delays, or safety risks and initiate corrective coordination.
  • Support planning and sequencing of vessel traffic for offshore operations and port calls.
  • Verify data accuracy across multiple platforms and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
  • Issue updates, alerts, and situation reports to relevant stakeholders at defined intervals.
  • Assist in emergency response coordination by tracking assets and relaying critical information.
  • Perform routine system checks and report faults or performance issues to technical support.
  • Contribute to shift handovers with clear summaries of ongoing activities and priorities.
