Join our team as a DCS Technician, providing maintenance, troubleshooting and optimization of control and automation systems.
We are looking for an experienced DCS Technician to join a dynamic offshore industrial operation. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled automation professional to play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing control systems that support safe and efficient production.
Working within a multidisciplinary maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, instrumentation, and associated automation equipment while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.
What You'll Be Doing
- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of DCS, PLC, and control systems.
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Execute software, firmware, and system updates, backups, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Support commissioning, modifications, and system upgrades.
- Analyze equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and technical documentation.
- Coordinate and supervise specialist vendor support as required.
- Assist operations and maintenance teams during troubleshooting and plant upsets.
- Manage spare parts requirements for assigned systems.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and HSE standards.
- What We're Looking For
- Technical qualification in Automation, Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience with industrial automation and control systems in a process industry environment.
- Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, and control system maintenance.
- Experience performing system troubleshooting, backups, updates, and configuration management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external service providers.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Offshore or industrial production facility experience is highly desirable.
