Chief Engineer (C/E) – Cement Vessel – Worldwide (Panama Flag)

**Description**
OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Chief Engineer (C/E) for a Panama-flagged cement vessel trading worldwide. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for safe and efficient operation, maintenance and performance of all engine room and cargo-related machinery, with special focus on the cement loading and unloading systems.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Take overall charge of the engine department and all machinery on board.
- Oversee and control the full cement cargo system operation and performance.
- Ensure proper operation of the loading/unloading system based on IBAU blow pumps.
- Plan and supervise maintenance and repairs of main and auxiliary engines and all related equipment.
- Lead, train and support engine room officers and crew, including effective coordination with the 3/E.
- Monitor plant performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure safe, efficient operations.
- Maintain compliance with class, flag, and company standards.

**Requirements**
- Minimum 2 years’ experience sailing as Chief Engineer or in a similar senior engine role on cargo vessels.
- Strong marine engine management skills, with proven experience working in multinational crews.
- Deep knowledge of cement plant operations, especially IBAU blow pump loading/unloading systems.
- Familiar with MAK four-stroke engines.
- Valid and appropriate C/E license and marine certificates in line with vessel and flag requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
