Join OSM Thome as 2nd Cook / Assistant Cook on a passenger ocean cruise vessel in the Mediterranean. In this role you support the Galley team to prepare and serve safe, tasty and well-presented meals for guests and crew, following all company and hygiene standards.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Cook and Chief Cook with daily food preparation and cooking
- Prepare basic dishes, salads, garnishes and snacks as instructed
- Follow menus, recipes, portion and presentation standards
- Keep galley, fridges and storage areas clean and well organized
- Handle food, tools and equipment safely and hygienically
- Support stock control, loading and correct storage of provisions
- Requirements:
- Previous experience at sea as 2nd Cook / Assistant Cook or similar
- Basic cooking skills and knowledge of galley routines on passenger vessels
- Valid seafarer documents and medical fitness as per STCW
- Good command of English
- Team player, able to work in shifts and under time pressure
