- Key responsibilities:
- Carry out steel repair, cutting, welding and fabrication work on deck and in engine room
- Assist engineers with maintenance of pipes, tanks, structures and machinery foundations
- Maintain, repair and fit handrails, ladders, hatches and other ship structures
- Use and maintain tools, welding and cutting equipment safely
- Follow all safety procedures and take part in safety drills and toolbox meetings
- Requirements:
- Sea-going experience as Fitter on bulk carriers or similar vessel type
- Strong welding and cutting skills (arc, gas, basic fabrication)
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness
- Good English communication and ability to work in a mixed-nationality crew
- Safety-minded, hardworking and ready for worldwide trading
