Sail worldwide as Fitter on oil/chemical tankers with OSM Thome. Strong technical skills and tanker experience preferred.
OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Fitter to join our oil/chemical tanker fleet trading worldwide. You will work closely with the deck and engine teams to keep the vessel safe, seaworthy, and well maintained.
- Key responsibilities:
- Carry out steel repairs, welding, cutting, and fabrication work onboard
- Maintain and repair pipelines, brackets, supports, and structural fittings
- Assist engine crew with maintenance of machinery and auxiliary equipment
- Support deck crew with repairs on deck fittings, hatch covers, ladders, and handrails
- Follow safety procedures and permit-to-work systems during all repair jobs
- Requirements:
- Previous sea service as Fitter, preferably on tanker vessels
- Strong welding and gas-cutting skills (experience with different welding methods)
- Good understanding of shipboard safety and safe working practices
- Valid STCW certificates and other documents as per rank
- Good English communication and ability to work in an international crew
