OSM Thome is looking for an experienced 3rd Officer for an oil/chemical tanker trading in Europe. If you are a safety-minded deck officer with tanker background and ready for your next contract, we invite you to sail with us.
Key responsibilities
- Stand bridge watch as OOW, ensuring safe navigation and compliance with COLREGs
- Assist with cargo operations, tank inspections and line-up under senior officer guidance
- Carry out navigational duties, including voyage planning, charts and publications upkeep
- Participate in mooring/unmooring operations and shipboard drills
- Support implementation of ISM, ISPS and company safety procedures
- Supervise deck ratings as assigned and maintain good seamanship standards
Requirements
- Valid STCW OICNW / 3rd Officer license with tanker endorsement (oil/chemical)
- Recent experience on oil/chemical tankers in a similar rank preferred
- All mandatory STCW certificates and valid seafarer medical
- Good English communication skills, written and spoken
- Strong safety attitude, teamwork mindset and readiness to join on short notice in Europe
