Join OSM Thome as 3rd Engineer and be part of a safe and efficient engine room team trading in UK waters. You will support the smooth operation and maintenance of all machinery, working closely with senior engineers and following company and international standards.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist in operation and maintenance of main engine, auxiliaries and engine room equipment
- Carry out routine checks, watchkeeping and record-keeping as per company procedures
- Perform planned maintenance, minor repairs and troubleshooting under supervision
- Monitor fuel, lube oil, cooling water and other systems, reporting abnormalities
- Follow all safety procedures, permit-to-work and pollution prevention rules
- Support senior engineers in dry-dock, inspections and surveys as required
- Requirements:
- Valid UK work permit
- STCW III/1 Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (or equivalent 3/E license)
- Valid STCW basic and advanced safety courses, valid medical certificate
- Experience as 3rd Engineer or strong background as 4th Engineer on seagoing vessels
- Good English communication skills
- Strong safety mindset and ability to work in a multinational crew
