Join OSM Thome as Chief Engineer on bulk carriers trading worldwide. Take full charge of the engine department and ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment.
- Key responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise all engine room crew and activities
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot main engine, auxiliaries and ship systems
- Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance
- Ensure safe engine room operations and compliance with company and international regulations
- Control fuel and lube oil consumption and maintain technical records
- Cooperate closely with the Master and other departments for safe vessel operation
- Requirements:
- Valid Chief Engineer (Unlimited) CoC with bulk carrier experience
- Previous sea service as C/E or strong 1/E background on similar vessels
- Good knowledge of engine room systems, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong leadership, communication and safety mindset
- Valid STCW certificates, medical and other required documents
- Good command of English, written and spoken
