Join OSM Thome as a Fitter on board an Oil/Chemical Tanker trading in Canada. You will work closely with the deck and engine teams to keep the vessel’s structure, equipment and piping in safe and reliable condition.
- Key responsibilities:
- Carry out welding, cutting, grinding and basic fabrication jobs on board
- Maintain and repair steel structures, pipelines, brackets and supports
- Assist with maintenance of deck and engine machinery as directed by officers
- Follow all safety procedures and permit-to-work systems
- Support cargo and mooring operations when required
- Requirements:
- Sea-going experience as Fitter, preferably on Oil/Chemical Tankers
- Proven welding and fabrication skills (arc, gas and cutting tools)
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness
- Good English communication and strong safety awareness
- Team player, able to work independently and handle shipboard routines
