Join OSM Thome as Chief Cook on an oil/chemical tanker trading in Canada. You will be in charge of the galley, ensuring safe, tasty and nutritious meals for all crew while keeping high standards of hygiene and food handling on board.
- Key responsibilities:
- Plan menus and prepare daily meals for crew and officers
- Manage food stores, freezing and ration control
- Order and receive provisions according to company budget and standards
- Keep galley, mess rooms and storerooms clean, safe and in good order
- Follow all hygiene, safety and HACCP procedures
- Work closely with the Master and Chief Officer on victualling matters
- Requirements:
- Previous experience as Chief Cook on tanker vessels (oil/chemical preferred)
- Valid STCW certificates and seafarer documents as per rank
- Good knowledge of maritime food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to plan menus and manage stores for long voyages
- Good English communication skills
- Medically fit for sea service
