OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Fitter to work on a Heavy Load Carrier trading worldwide. You will support safe and reliable vessel operations by carrying out steel repairs, maintenance and fabrication work as needed onboard.
- Key responsibilities:
- Perform steel repairs and fabrication work on deck, in engine room and cargo areas
- Carry out cutting, welding, grinding and fitting jobs as instructed
- Assist with maintenance of hull, structures, ladders, rails and foundations
- Work closely with engineers and deck crew to support daily operations
- Follow all safety procedures and keep work areas clean and orderly
- Requirements:
- Must have GWO SS and be British/Irish or have Frontier visa
- Previous sea service as Fitter, preferably on cargo or heavy lift vessels
- Good skills in welding, cutting and use of workshop tools
- Valid STCW documents and medical certificate
- Good English communication skills
- Ability to work safely, independently and as part of a team
