OSM Thome is looking for an experienced 2nd Engineer (2/E) to serve on crude oil tankers trading worldwide. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and engine team to keep all machinery running safely and efficiently.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist Chief Engineer in day-to-day management of the engine department
- Operate, monitor and maintain main engine, auxiliaries and related systems
- Plan and carry out routine maintenance and repairs as per PMS
- Supervise engine room ratings and ensure safe working practices
- Maintain correct engine room records, logs and reports
- Support bunkering, fuel treatment and engine performance checks
- Ensure compliance with company, flag state and class requirements
- Requirements:
- Valid STCW III/2 2nd Engineer CoC for seagoing vessels
- Crude oil tanker experience in rank or as 3/E on similar vessels
- Valid tanker (oil) endorsement and STCW safety certificates
- Good knowledge of engine room operations and planned maintenance systems
- Fit for duty with valid medical certificate and seaman’s book
- Good English communication skills
