OSM Thome, IWS is looking for an experienced 3rd Officer to join an offshore Service Operation Vessel (SOV) trading in UK waters. If you are a safety-minded officer with solid watchkeeping skills and a strong work ethic, this could be a great next step in your seagoing career.
Key responsibilities
- Stand navigational watches as OOW, ensuring safe and efficient vessel operation
- Assist with ship handling, mooring, and DP operations as required
- Carry out bridge, safety and navigational equipment checks and maintenance
- Support the implementation of company and vessel safety procedures
- Assist with drills, safety training, and emergency preparedness
- Prepare and update charts, publications, and voyage plans under the Chief Officer’s guidance
Requirements
- Valid STCW Officer of the Watch (OOW) Deck CoC, suitable for service in UK waters
- Previous experience as 3/O or OOW, preferably on offshore or DP/SOV type vessels
- All mandatory STCW safety certificates and valid Seafarer Medical (e.g. UKOG/ENG1)
- Good level of spoken and written English
- Strong focus on safety, teamwork, and professional conduct
