Join OSM Thome as Chief Engineer on our chemical tanker fleet trading in Europe & UK. You will be in charge of the engine department, making sure all machinery runs safely, efficiently and in line with company and international standards.
- Key responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and train the engine room team
- Oversee safe and efficient operation of all ship’s machinery and equipment
- Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance
- Monitor bunker and lube oil consumption and maintain records
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, SMS, class and flag requirements
- Support safe cargo and ballast operations from engine side
- Prepare, manage and report on engine department budget and spare parts
- Requirements:
- Valid STCW Chief Engineer (Motor) license for seagoing vessels
- Recent sea service as C/E on chemical tankers (or strong tanker experience)
- Good knowledge of engine room operations, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Familiar with ISM, ISPS, MARPOL and vetting requirements
- Good English communication skills
- Fit for duty with valid medical certificates and relevant tanker endorsements
