Join OSM Thome as Chief Engineer (C/E) on an Offshore Construction Vessel operating in Brazilian waters. Take full charge of the engine department, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable vessel operations to support offshore construction work.
- Key responsibilities:
- Oversee all engine room and machinery operations, maintenance and repairs
- Lead and supervise engine department crew, ensuring safe work practices
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance for all mechanical and electrical systems
- Monitor fuel and lube oil consumption and maintain engine room logs and records
- Ensure compliance with class, flag, company, safety and environmental requirements
- Support offshore construction operations with reliable power and equipment readiness
- Requirements:
- Valid Chief Engineer license, unlimited
- Previous experience as C/E on offshore or construction / subsea vessels
- Strong knowledge of main engine, auxiliary machinery and DP-related systems
- Good command of English, spoken and written
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fit for duty
- Experience in Brazilian waters and local regulations is an advantage
