OSM Thome is looking for an experienced 2nd Officer to join an offshore multipurpose vessel operating out of Las Palmas, Spain. If you are a dedicated navigator with solid offshore experience and a hands-on attitude, we invite you to explore this opportunity.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Officer with navigation, cargo and deck operations
- Stand bridge watch and ensure safe navigation and compliance with COLREGS
- Plan and monitor voyages, update charts and publications (paper/ECDIS)
- Support offshore operations, including DP/anchor handling tasks as required
- Participate in safety drills, PTW, toolbox talks and risk assessments
- Assist with maintenance of lifesaving and firefighting equipment
- Ensure proper record-keeping, logbooks and checklists
- Requirements:
- Valid STCW II/1 OOW Deck CoC or higher
- DP full
- Recent experience as 2/O or OOW on offshore or multipurpose vessels
- Good working knowledge of ECDIS and bridge equipment
- STCW basic and advanced safety courses up to date
- Valid medical certificate and seafarer’s documents
- Good level of English, spoken and written
- Strong safety mindset and ability to work in a mixed-nationality crew
