OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Chief Officer for an oil/chemical tanker trading in West Africa. If you are a hands-on leader with solid tanker background and strong cargo experience, this could be your next hitch at sea.
- Key responsibilities:
- Oversee deck department and daily deck operations
- Plan and supervise cargo loading, discharging and tank cleaning
- Ensure safe navigation and bridge watchkeeping as per company and international rules
- Lead onboard safety, drills, and permit-to-work systems
- Maintain deck, cargo gear and LSA/FFA in good working order
- Requirements:
- Valid Chief Officer license (unlimited) with tanker endorsement
- Proven experience on oil/chemical tankers as C/O or strong 2/O stepping up
- IG, cargo control, tank cleaning and pumping operations experience
- All mandatory STCW certificates valid and up to date
- Good English communication skills and strong safety mindset
