Key Responsibilities
- Assist Chief Engineer with safe and efficient operation of main engine and auxiliaries
- Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance on engine room and deck machinery
- Monitor and record engine and machinery performance, pressures, temperatures, and fuel/oil consumption
- Operate and maintain purifiers, boilers, compressors, pumps, and steering gear
- Ensure safe engine room watchkeeping and respond to alarms and emergencies
- Follow company procedures on safety, environmental protection, and pollution prevention
- Keep engine room clean, tidy, and in good working order
Requirements
- Valid 2nd Engineer (Motor) license, compliant with STCW
- Experience as 2/E on bulk carriers preferred
- Valid STCW basic and advanced safety certificates
- Valid medical fitness certificate and seaman’s book
- Good spoken and written English
- Strong safety mindset and hands-on maintenance skills
- Team player, able to work in a mixed-nationality crew
