Join OSM Thome as Motorman / Oiler on our bulk carriers trading worldwide. Work closely with the engine team to keep all machinery and equipment in safe and efficient working condition.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist watchkeeping engineers with daily engine room duties
- Carry out routine oiling, greasing and cleaning of machinery
- Perform maintenance on pumps, purifiers, compressors and auxiliary equipment
- Monitor and report leaks, abnormal sounds and any defects
- Follow safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping in the engine room
- Assist during bunkering, transfers and other engine-related operations
- Requirements:
- Valid Motorman / Oiler (MTM) certificate and STCW documents
- Previous sea service in engine room, preferably on bulk carriers
- Good understanding of engine room operations and safety
- Fit for duty with valid medical certificate
- Ability to work in a multinational team and follow instructions clearly
