Join OSM Thome as 2nd Officer onboard a bulk carrier trading worldwide. You will be part of a professional bridge team, ensuring safe navigation and smooth daily operations at sea and in port.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Officer with navigation, watchkeeping and safety duties
- Stand bridge watch as OOW, ensuring safe and efficient vessel operation
- Plan and monitor voyages, update charts and publications (ECDIS/paper)
- Assist with cargo operations, stability, ballast and draft checks
- Support implementation of SMS, ISM, ISPS and company procedures
- Carry out safety drills, inspections and maintenance of navigation equipment
- Requirements:
- Valid STCW II/1 Officer of the Watch CoC or higher
- Experience as 2nd Officer / OOW on bulk carriers is an advantage
- Valid STCW basic and advanced safety training, medical and relevant documents
- ECDIS endorsement and familiarization with modern bridge systems
- Good English communication skills, both spoken and written
- Strong safety mindset, teamwork attitude and readiness for worldwide trading
