For Carnival Cruise Line, OSM Thome Recruitment is looking all experienced Patissiers for unique career opportunities in the cruise industry.
Carnivals cruise ships are floating hotels and guest like to enjoy all the delicious food prepared by the Culinary Arts Team.
As a patisser you will be responsible for the day to day production of pastries and desserts as per company standards and specifications.
As part of a small hardworking and creative Pastry Team Patissiers are involved in the preparation of all cakes, cookies, desserts and pastries, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation, ensuring the highest level of sanitation is maintained, in keeping with company and USPH standards.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- To produce desserts and pastries for the guests and crew consumption as the company's standards and specifications
- To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene.
- To maintain a high standard of discipline and timekeeping.
- To carry out the duties as directed by the Chef de Partie-Pastry.
- To maintain high standards of USPH and proper handling of food and keeping his area and equipment clean and tidy.
- To have a complete knowledge of the equipment handled, their proper cleaning and maintenance.
- To work in any shift given by the Chef.
- To assist the Chef de Partie on checking the receiving from storeroom for the right quantities and on checking the returns.
- To work in cooperation with other crewmembers and fellow Pastry Team Members
- To make sure that guest expectations are exceeded.
- To control wastage and thus keep department cost within the budget
Qualifications and competence:
- At least 1+ years’ experience Hotel, Resort, Cruise Ship
- US Visa C1/D is preferred however not required at the time of application, however must be in place before onboarding
- Covid 19 Certificate
- Basic Training Certificates as per STCW standard
- English language proficiency
- Health certificate
