FUNCTIONAL ROLE AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Support overall procurement and business strategy set by OSM Thome / Technical Purchasing Management.
• Maintain and further develop positive performance-driven relationships between vessel and Technical Purchasing.
• Continuously improve service quality and productivity levels and share best practices across OSM Thome purchasing team
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure the availability of items and ensure smooth operation onboard the vessel / rigs
• Identify alternative source of materials for obsolete requirements and ensure quality is at standard specification
• Evaluate and improve supplier selection taking into account total landed cost mindset: deliver the right goods at the fastest and most economical way to ensure vessel daily running costs at minimum level without jeopardizing the operation
• Work with suppliers to ensure the organization will meet 5R's - Right product, Right place, Right prices, Right Quantity and Right time.
• Evaluate and decide on mode of transportation taking into account Total Landed Cost: deliver the right goods at the fastest and most economical way to help maintain vessel daily running costs at minimum level and rig up-time to the maximum.

• At least 2 years of forwarding/purchasing experience from a shipping company or 4 years of purchasing experience from a different industry
• At least a graduate of any Bachelor’s Degree, preferably Industrial Engineering
• Must have negotiation, communication, decision-making and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of international supply chain
• Strong English proficiency both written and verbal
