The main purpose of this position is to:
- Ensure safe and smooth operations in accordance with OSM Thome processes and procedures, relevant international rules and regulations, industry best practices and customer expectations.
- Form a strong cooperation between vessel SMT (Ship Management Team) and shore office.
- Actively promote commitment to OSM Thome’s safety culture and OSM Thome safety standards.
Key responsibilities:
Total responsibility for the operation of the vessel, including but not limited to:
- Crew selection, performance management and wellbeing.
- Vessel complies with the Company's policies, KPIs, processes and procedures, including Risk Assessments.
- Vessel remains acceptable by charterers, oil majors and Class/Statutory requirements at all times.
- Ensure that the vessel’s operation is carried out according to the respective Management Agreements and to customers’ satisfaction.
- Prepare operating budget for the vessel and follow up deviation.
- Coordinate all matters related to insurance claims.
- Effectively manage vessel funding to limit OSM Thome exposure.
- Keep Fleet Manager informed of all relevant matters concerning the offshore management's operation.
Required competencies
- Master/Chief Engineer/Chief Officer/2nd Engineer license; or
- Degree in Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture or other relevant education / work experience.
