Contribution and Aim

The main purpose of this position is to be responsible for providing accounting/bookkeeping services to OSM Offices handling the client’s vessel books.

Key Responsibilities and Role (s)

  • Manages the agreed scope of services of the Vessel Accounting:
  • Cash Management – Fund Request
  • Cash to Master Arrangement
  • Updating Annual Budget
  • Period end closing
  • Balance sheet accounts reconciliation
  • Clearing of recon items/Investigation, and follow up on aging items
  • Financial Reporting
  • Budget Variance Analysis
  • OSA/BS Analysis
  • Assists in year-end routine and back up some system administrative functions.
  • Demonstrates authority and thorough understanding of the FR functions and related services.
  • Trains new hires.
  • Supervises and measures the productivity of the team based on the agreed goals and KPI.
  • Develops a customer service culture within VA and other departments.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors a system of checks and balances relating to VA services.
  • Liaises with Auditors

Education and Qualification

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
  • Certified Public Accountant would be an advantage.
  • Highly motivated, structured, and quality-driven individual who in parallel possesses strong initiative, excellent, interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates team collaboration and team spirit.
  • Good command in English – oral and written skills.
  • Must be well organized and self-starter.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Has initiative, able to work with minimum supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Customer service oriented

Experiences

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experiences.
  • Experience in the Shipping / Ship management industry is preferred.
  • Past audit, accounting, and analytical experiences would be an advantage.
  • Good team-player, proactive and positive working attitude.
  • Independent with innovation and problem-solving skills.
  • Good/Excellent Advanced MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
  • Ability to start work immediately or on short notice is preferred
