Position Summary:

The Bar Utility supports the bar team by maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall functionality of all bar areas. This includes assisting in stock handling, bar preparation, sanitation, and ensuring the efficient flow of service. This role is vital for upholding hygiene and safety standards while helping create a seamless guest experience.

• Clean and sanitize bar areas, equipment, glassware, and utensils according to health and safety standards.
• Restock and organize bar supplies, including beverages, garnishes, glassware, and tools.
• Collect and dispose of trash, recyclables, and empty bottles in a safe and timely manner.
• Assist with daily bar setup and breakdown, ensuring all areas are ready for service.
• Replenish ice and support bar staff during high-volume service periods.
• Handle deliveries and ensure proper storage and rotation of stock (FIFO).
• Report maintenance issues and equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain clean and dry floors, ensuring safety in all bar and back-of-house areas.
• Follow all sanitation and safety procedures as outlined by local regulations and company policy.
• Work collaboratively with bartenders and servers to maintain smooth operations.

Requirements:

• Education & Certification
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Sanitation certification may be required (depending on location or cruise line).

Experience:

• Previous experience in bar support, kitchen stewarding, or similar hospitality roles preferred.
• Familiarity with bar setups and beverage products is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, physically demanding environments.
• Dependable team player with a proactive and flexible approach.
• Capable of following detailed instructions and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and refrigerated environments.
• Willingness to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
