As a Stateroom Attendant, you will play a key role in delivering Royal Caribbean’s gold-standard hospitality by maintaining a pristine environment in guest staterooms and corridors. You’ll consistently exceed expectations through exceptional service, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and cleanliness in alignment with The Royal Way, USPH, SQM, and environmental standards. This role demands a high level of professionalism, energy, and pride in delivering world-class service.


Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Report on time to the Housekeeping Office, fully groomed and in a clean uniform per company standards.
  • Transport luggage during embarkation and introduce yourself to guests in your assigned area.
  • Provide exceptional personal assistance to guests, proactively exceeding expectations.
  • Maintain full knowledge of daily ship events to accurately assist and inform guests.
  • Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning protocols for staterooms and corridors.
  • Make beds, change towels per the Save the Waves program, and restock amenities.
  • Clean bathrooms, windows, carpets, upholstery, and furniture with proper chemical use.
  • Assist with laundry and dry-cleaning services, ensuring timely pickup and delivery.
  • Report all maintenance issues promptly and follow up for timely resolution.
  • Maintain and prepare cleaning supplies, equipment, and linen/towel packets.
  • Accurately track and complete cleaning logs, worksheets, and room turnover tasks.
  • Support turnaround operations on embarkation/disembarkation days.
  • Create towel designs as part of the guest experience.
  • Attend all required trainings, meetings, and drills.
  • Handle guest concerns courteously and resolve them within onboard guidelines.

Qualifications and competence:

  • 1–2 years of stateroom or hotel room cleaning experience (4- or 5-star property preferred).
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures and chemical handling.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Completion of onboard computer-based training.
  • Fluent spoken and written English required.
  • Additional languages such as Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin, or German are preferred.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and use hands for extended periods.
