Information about the job:
- Job Title: Construction Manager.
- Projects: Onshore.
- Location: Mozambique, Afungi (Remote Area) .
- Rotation: 75 days on duty / 21 days off duty, 10 hours a day / 60 hours per week (from Monday to Saturday).
- Salary: 10.000-14.000 USD (12 paid salaries per year), based on experience.
- Start date: TBC.
- Accommodation: Provided by the Company.
- Insurance: Provided by the Company.
Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:
- Experience in LNG plants and/or civil works is a must. Ideal experience between 10-15 years.
- Strong leadership in planning, scheduling, and coordinating large-scale construction operations.
- Knowledge of construction logistics, work-front planning, and resource mobilisation.
- Understanding of construction-related contractual frameworks and variation management.
- Proficiency in English.
Tasks:
- Outline and validate execution methodologies and site workflows during early project stages.
- Lead planning sessions to define construction priorities, phasing, and sequencing.
- Supervise subcontractor setup, including work permits, manpower loading, and equipment readiness.
- Monitor daily site activity, ensuring alignment with construction targets and project metrics.
- Issue site instructions, resolve field issues, and coordinate technical clarifications.
- Analyse deviations from the work plan and implement recovery steps to restore progress.
- Track earned value, prepare progress summaries, and support preparation of client reports.
- Coordinate daily with engineering and procurement to identify constraints and unblock work fronts.
- Manage punch list closure processes tied to system/sub-system turnover.
- Conduct field inspections for quality, HSE compliance, and milestone validation.
- Adjust work assignments based on actual field conditions, subcontractor performance, and logistics.
- Support resource planning and mobilisation efforts across disciplines and shifts.
- Review technical submitting, redlines, and drawing updates as part of field control.
- Engage with client site representatives for walk downs, updates, and issue resolution.
- Lead regular toolbox talks and safety briefings; drive site HSE culture.
- Facilitate interface meetings with commissioning to prepare for mechanical handover.
- Compile and archive site records, construction metrics, and technical documentation.
- Support ongoing performance evaluations of site supervisors and construction team leads.
- Help develop and review site-specific procedures for special or high-risk activities.
- Identify and track construction lessons learned throughout the project life cycle.
