OSM Thome Recruitment is seeking experienced Galley Supervisors on behalf of Carnival Cruise Line to support daily galley operations and uphold the highest standards of hygiene, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
As a Galley Supervisor, you’ll assist the Food & Beverage and Culinary management teams, working closely with the Assistant F&B Manager to ensure smooth daily operations across all galley and related areas — always in full compliance with company policies, sanitation guidelines, and USPH standards.
Responsibilities and Tasks:- Lead by example, embodying Carnival’s Vision, Culture, and Values.
- Support the Assistant F&B Manager in maintaining efficient and high-quality galley operations during all service periods.
- Oversee post-service galley breakdown and washdown, ensuring full compliance with health and safety standards.
- Manage galley inventories, track par levels, and report shortages or maintenance issues promptly.
- Monitor and schedule Galley Attendants in compliance with MLC regulations.
- Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and maintenance of galley equipment.
- Conduct briefings to allocate daily tasks, communicate updates, and reinforce standards.
- Train, coach, and motivate Galley Attendants to ensure high morale and performance.
- Monitor grooming and punctuality of the galley team.
- Enforce strict compliance with sanitation, environmental, and safety regulations (USPH, HESS, OH&S).
- Supervise proper garbage separation and disposal procedures in food operation areas.
- Assist in monitoring and reporting food waste volumes and ensuring proper bin usage and labeling.
- Manage galley storage areas, ensuring optimal organization and inventory control.
Qualifications and competence:
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a galley, kitchen, or similar environment.
- Previous experience as Galley Utility, Galley Attendant, or Kitchen Porter preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to coach and motivate others.
- Positive, proactive, and hands-on approach.
- Fluent in conversational English.
- Excellent hygiene and sanitation habits.
- Physically strong and able to lift up to 50 lbs and sustain demanding work for extended contracts (up to 9 months).
- A desire for career growth and development within the cruise industry.
