Join OSM Thome as 2nd Cook / Assistant Cook on a passenger ferry in Europe. Support the galley team in preparing good, safe meals for crew and passengers while keeping high hygiene and safety standards on board.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist Chief Cook in daily food preparation and cooking
- Prepare simple dishes, salads, snacks, and baking as required
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items
- Keep galley, equipment, and stores clean and in good order
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures at all times
- Assist with receiving and checking provisions
- Support smooth service for crew and passengers during meal times
- Requirements:
- Experience as 2nd Cook / Assistant Cook, preferably on passenger vessels or ferries
- Basic training in cooking or galley work
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness for sea service
- Good knowledge of galley hygiene and food safety
- Ability to work in shifts and under time pressure
- Good English communication skills
- Team player with a positive and flexible attitude
