Set sail with OSM Thome as an Assistant Pastry Cook on a passenger ferry in Europe. Support the pastry team in preparing fresh, high-quality desserts and baked goods for guests and crew, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety in the galley.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing cakes, pastries, breads and other baked items
  • Follow recipes and instructions from the Pastry Chef and senior galley staff
  • Ensure proper handling, storage and rotation of ingredients
  • Keep pastry workstations, tools and equipment clean and orderly
  • Support safe food handling and HACCP standards at all times
  • Work closely with the galley team to meet service times and quality standards

Requirements

  • Previous experience in pastry or bakery, preferably on passenger vessels or in hotels/restaurants
  • Basic knowledge of pastry production and baking techniques
  • Good English communication skills
  • Ability to work in shifts and under time pressure
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Valid seafarer documents as per vessel and flag state requirements (or willingness to obtain)
