Set sail with OSM Thome as an Assistant Pastry Cook on a passenger ferry in Europe. Support the pastry team in preparing fresh, high-quality desserts and baked goods for guests and crew, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety in the galley.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing cakes, pastries, breads and other baked items
- Follow recipes and instructions from the Pastry Chef and senior galley staff
- Ensure proper handling, storage and rotation of ingredients
- Keep pastry workstations, tools and equipment clean and orderly
- Support safe food handling and HACCP standards at all times
- Work closely with the galley team to meet service times and quality standards
Requirements
- Previous experience in pastry or bakery, preferably on passenger vessels or in hotels/restaurants
- Basic knowledge of pastry production and baking techniques
- Good English communication skills
- Ability to work in shifts and under time pressure
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Valid seafarer documents as per vessel and flag state requirements (or willingness to obtain)
