Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:
- Minimum 6 years’ proven experience in offshore hook-up activities in a supervisory telecom role.
- Recognized offshore safety training (e.g., BOSIET and H₂S awareness) is considered an advantage.
- Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) qualification from an FOA-approved provider.
- ATEX-related training for cable gland installation or hazardous area compliance is a plus.
- Completion of HSE orientation along with basic first aid/life support knowledge.
- Practical understanding of Permit to Work (PTW) systems in offshore environments.
- Intermediate to upper-intermediate English communication skills (minimum B2 level).
Tasks:
- Lead onboard telecom installation and hook-up works, ensuring alignment with project specifications and offshore standards.
- Supervise fiber optic routing, termination, and testing activities across vessel or platform systems.
- Enforce compliance with safety procedures, including hazardous area requirements and permit controls.
- Review and validate technical outputs such as test results, inspection records, and system checks.
- Coordinate daily tasks with multidisciplinary teams to support seamless integration of telecom systems.
- Identify and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning phases.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to work progress, safety compliance, and system status.
- Support safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments to promote a strong HSE culture.
- Monitor subcontractors or technicians to ensure work quality and adherence to timelines.
