Join OSM Thome as an Electro Technical Rating (ETR) on our oil/chemical tanker fleet trading worldwide. Work closely with the ship’s Electrical Officer and Engine team to keep all electrical and electronic systems running safely and efficiently.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist in maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment, including motors, lighting, switchboards and control panels
- Support troubleshooting of faults in power distribution and automation systems
- Carry out routine inspections and testing of electrical systems as per PMS and safety standards
- Assist with upkeep of communication and navigation equipment as directed
- Follow safety procedures and permit-to-work systems during all electrical jobs
- Maintain good housekeeping in workshops, stores and electrical spaces
- Requirements:
- Valid Electro Technical Rating (ETR) or equivalent electrical rating certification
- Previous sea experience in an electrical role, preferably on tankers
- Valid STCW certificates and tanker familiarization as per regulations
- Good knowledge of shipboard electrical and electronic systems
- Fit for sea service, safety-minded and able to work in a multinational crew
- Good command of English, spoken and written
