Join OSM Thome as a Fitter on board a Container Vessel trading worldwide. We are looking for a hands-on, safety-minded seafarer who can keep deck and engine equipment in good working order and support smooth vessel operations.
- Key responsibilities:
- Carry out steel repairs, cutting, welding and fabrication jobs on board
- Maintain and repair pipelines, structures, brackets and foundations
- Assist engineers with maintenance of machinery and equipment as required
- Follow safety procedures and keep work areas clean and organized
- Support general deck and engine department tasks as instructed by officers
- Requirements:
- Previous experience as Fitter on ocean-going vessels, preferably container ships
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness for sea service
- Good skills in welding, gas cutting and use of related tools and equipment
- Basic English communication skills for work and safety
- Team player with a responsible attitude and strong safety awareness
