Join OSM Thome as a 2nd Officer (2/O) onboard our vessel in Brazil. We are looking for an experienced and reliable deck officer to support safe navigation, cargo operations, and overall vessel safety.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Officer in daily deck operations and watchkeeping
- Stand bridge watch, ensuring safe navigation and compliance with COLREGs
- Plan and monitor voyage routes using ECDIS and other navigational aids
- Assist with cargo operations, stability, and ballast control as required
- Carry out safety rounds, inspections, and maintain deck equipment
- Support safety drills, emergency preparedness, and ISM/ISPS compliance
- Maintain accurate deck and navigational records and logs
- Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Officer (OOW Deck) CoC meeting STCW requirements
- All mandatory STCW certificates and valid Seaman’s Book
- Good experience in bridge watchkeeping and shipboard routines
- Strong knowledge of COLREGs, ECDIS, and navigational equipment
- Good English communication skills
- Fit for duty with valid medical certificate
- Previous experience in a similar rank is an advantage
