- Key responsibilities:
- Assist engine officers and ratings in daily engine room duties
- Carry out cleaning, housekeeping and simple maintenance in machinery spaces
- Handle tools, equipment and materials safely and correctly
- Take part in bunkering, waste handling and other routine engine room tasks
- Follow all safety procedures and take part in drills and toolbox meetings
- Requirements:
- STCW-compliant documents for Wiper or Engine Rating (as applicable)
- Valid seafarer medical certificate and basic safety training
- Previous sea experience in the engine room is an advantage
- Good command of English, spoken and written
- Team player with a strong safety attitude and willingness to learn
