Join OSM Thome as Chief Officer on a chemical tanker trading worldwide. You will support the Master in the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, lead the deck team, and ensure all cargo and deck operations are carried out to the highest standard.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Master in navigation, vessel handling and overall ship management
- Plan and supervise cargo operations, including loading, discharging and tank cleaning
- Maintain and monitor stability, draft, and cargo condition at all times
- Lead, train and manage the deck crew in day-to-day operations and safety routines
- Oversee deck maintenance, inspections and proper upkeep of safety and firefighting equipment
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, ISM, vetting, and international regulations
- Requirements:
- Valid Chief Officer license (unlimited) with all required STCW certificates
- Recent experience as C/O on chemical tankers
- Strong knowledge of chemical cargo handling, safety and pollution prevention
- Good leadership and communication skills with a hands-on approach
- Good command of English, spoken and written
- Medically fit for sea service
