Join OSM Thome as Fitter on board a VLCC tanker trading worldwide. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on seafarer who can maintain and repair steel structures, pipelines and deck/engine fittings to keep the vessel safe and in good working order.
- Key responsibilities:
- Carry out welding, cutting, grinding and fitting work on hull, tanks, pipes and structures
- Assist with maintenance and repairs of deck and engine equipment as directed by officers
- Fabricate and install brackets, supports and other steel work as needed
- Ensure tools, welding machines and work areas are kept safe and in good condition
- Follow shipboard safety procedures and permit-to-work systems at all times
- Requirements:
- Previous experience as Fitter on tanker vessels (VLCC experience preferred)
- Strong welding and metal fabrication skills (arc, gas, cutting and grinding)
- Valid STCW certificates and travel-ready documents as per rank
- Good English communication and ability to work in an international crew
- Medically fit for sea service and willing to work worldwide
