We are looking for an experienced Fitter to join our oil/chemical tanker in Lome. You will work closely with the engine room and deck teams to keep all steel structures, piping, and machinery in good working order and safe condition.
- Key responsibilities:
- Carry out steel repairs, fabrication, cutting, and welding as instructed by Chief Engineer
- Maintain and repair pipelines, brackets, supports, tanks, and ship structures
- Assist in maintenance of engine room and deck machinery when required
- Follow onboard safety procedures and permit-to-work systems at all times
- Keep workshop, tools, and equipment in safe and tidy condition
- Requirements:
- Previous experience as Fitter onboard tankers preferred (oil/chemical advantage)
- Strong skills in welding, gas cutting, and metal fabrication
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness for sea service
- Good command of English for work and safety communication
- Team player with a strong safety mindset and willingness to work hard
